Marconi Award

Created in 2004 By the Indianapolis Radio Club 2004 President ;
Chuck Crist -W9IH;
the old Am broadcast, 5 KiloWatt transmitting tube
was donated to the club By Charlie Sears - N9MEW.










Rules for the selection and presentation:
1-This award shall be presented to an IRC member annually for Excellence in Technical
Achievements involving Amateur Radio communications in the Indianapolis community.

2- The selection committee shall consist of 3 IRC members; one of which must be the
current club President or Vice President. After the 1st year presentation the last
recipient shall be on the selection committee. Eventually all the selection committee
shall consist of past award recipients.

3- The award shall be the property of the Indianapolis radio club continuous; each
winner shall have their Name, Call & year of presentation engraved on separate brass
tags and affixed to the award base. The new recipient shall be allowed to take the
Award home for 1 month immediately following the December meeting presentation ceremony.
The Marconi Award shall be displayed in the IRC Ham station all other times/….

4- No person shall be awarded the MARCONI award twice within a ten (10) year period.
